Access

As of 1 August, passengers that wish to board domestic flights from Lisbon will have to do so from Terminal 2 of the Airport of Lisbon.  In this first phase, TAP, SATA, and Aerocondor are the only carriers that will use the new Terminal, which has the capacity to process 1,500 passengers per hour.

Located at the extreme south of the Airport, in front of Segunda Circular, outside access to the new Terminal of the Airport of Lisbon is carried out through a road with an entrance next to the current departure area on Alameda das Comunidades Portuguesas.  Since there is no parking, access to the new Terminal only allows dropping off passengers that go by taxi, tourist buses, or that are driven there in private vehicles.

Whoever chooses to drive his/her own car will, thus, have as parking options, either the Main Terminal parking lots or the use of the new ValetXpress service.

Another alternative for access will be through the main Terminal, from which permanent free shuttles will be available from the departure areas of the current terminal to Terminal 2, and between the parking lots (P5, P4; P3) and Terminal 2.  In this first phase, the new infrastructure operates exclusively for Departures, and the Arrivals of these domestic flights will continue to be processed through the Main Terminal, to which the passengers are transported.

Transfer Passengers

Transfer passengers shall be channeled to a specific area – the QTC (Quick Transfer Center), where there will be ten passport control posts, a waiting lounge with 24 seats, five check-in counters, two entrance gateways, one of which for Schengen passengers and the other for Non-Schengen and Other passengers, and two exit gateways for Schengen departures and Non-Schengen and Other departures, lavatories, assistance area, and customs area.  With 1,200 square meters, this area possesses a capacity to process 750 passengers per hour.

Luggage Processing

Despite not having a luggage pick-up area, since it is meant exclusively for departures, the new infrastructure includes a luggage terminal with the capacity to process 1,800 bags/hour through two slope plate carousels.
